Augmented Cognition through Virtual Dialogue

Interactive Drama (IDI) is participating in the initial phase of the DARPA Augmented Cognition Program.  The mission of this program, sponsored by DARPA’s Information Technology Office, is to extend a human’s information-management capacity by developing and demonstrating quantifiable enhancements to human cognitive ability in diverse, stressful, operational environments.

As part of this program, IDI will develop, demonstrate, and evaluate a method for cost-effective virtual dialogue interaction with military commanders who possess special expert knowledge that could help an individual resolve a critical situation. The long-range goal is to give military personnel direct access to commanders and other experts through virtual dialogue interaction in order to transfer critical knowledge and enhance decision-making capability.
